Based in the Brisbane CBD, this position sits within the plant biosecurity team and focuses on delivering effective pest and disease surveillance outcomes. Duties:Performing scientific/technical literature reviews and write concise scientific reports, papers and recommendations.Collate information and provide advice to support policy, strategy, and stakeholder guidance.Collaborate with scientists across programs, government, and research institutes to resolve challenges and deliver biosecurity solutions, including:Prioritising pests for analysis.Assisting with pest risk and pathway assessments.Improving and validating biosecurity surveillance practices.Developing and optimising analytical methods.Reviewing and overseeing work outputs.Liaise with external stakeholders to build effective relationships, advise on routine pest/disease issues, and participate in forums or community events to support biosecurity risk management.Present research at state and national conferences with senior scientist guidance.
