About the role:Our Client, Pure Environmental, is a leader in liquid and solid hazardous waste management, organics recycling and contaminated site remediation, who deliver innovative solutions to solve their client`s most challenging waste and contaminated site problems. They are seeking a Chemist to join their Brisbane based team, working in an industrial setting in the waste sector on a permanent basis. Working alongside dedicated and experienced professionals in this sector, you will be provided with exceptional training, mentoring and support, to become a specialist in the waste industry. This role will require you to work outdoors and in a warehouse environment, when required. Duties include but are not limited to:Waste assessment; assess acceptance of waste materials against site license criteriaAnalyse and provide assessment of laboratory reportsPrepare risk assessment and procedure for the handling, storage and processing of wastes that are acceptedProvide information and advice to the sales team to assist in the quoting of waste acceptanceAssess and develop treatment processes for a range of hazardous packaged waste materialsCarry out the site sampling program; includes sampling of surface waters, soils and waste processing stockpiles for laboratory analysisPrepare documentation required for dispatch of samples Selection criteria:To be appointed for this position, please send through an application addressing the following selection criteria:Degree in Chemistry (minimum requirement)Sound experience working with waste or hazardous chemicalsPrevious experience in wastewater treatment facilities or chemical fixation and stabilization facilities would be advantageousField samplingExperience preparing risk assessments and work instructionsMeticulous record keeping skills in accordance with tightly regulated controlled waste environmentKnowledge and understanding of chemicals and applicable legislation relating to their use, storage and disposalA forklift license would be an advantage but not essentialExcellent communication skills to deal with internal and external customersHave a car and license to get to work, as the site is not accessible by public transport Apply!If you think this could be the role for you then please apply now!
