About the company/role: Our government client is looking for an AO5 Project Officer to join their team on a temporary basis until March 2026. You will be working with Fisheries Queensland as part of the Independent Onboard Monitoring (IOM) Team, providing administrative support for the gillnet fishery (NX) IOM program. This position will require travel to various coastal regions of Queensland, including the Gulf of Carpentaria. Duties:  Manage the day-to-day delivery of the NX IOM program  Manage communications and engagement with commercial fishing stakeholders, camera suppliers and internal stakeholders  Collaborate with, and report, to IOM Manager and Principal Project Officer to confirm current priorities and progress on works  Establish and maintain robust processes, procedures and documentation to support the improvement and ongoing delivery of the NX IOM program. Manage staff undertaking the review of NX camera footage and validation of commercial fishing logbooks, ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) processes are implemented and robust and reliable outputs are achieved Provide technical support and strategic guidance with the installation of onboard camera equipment that achieves program objectivesCoordinate and contribute to the establishment and delivery of a small boat camera trial across gillnet fishing vessels in the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Queensland east coast. Manage quality assurance and control of data   Collaborate with Fisheries Queensland data team on the development and management of the NX IOM database, data entry, and automated reporting processes  Contribute to the contract management for camera systems including lead/drive the procurement of hardware and software, troubleshooting, warranty claims and inventory management  Manage accounts and access to secure web-based platforms and servers where sensitive/protected information is stored to ensure its secure Work with ITP on network management and security protocols to meet project milestones  Collaborate with other in-house technical experts to investigate and test hardware and software solutions   Skills/experience: Knowledge of commercial fishing vessels and operations, including onboard monitoring systems.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and connect with commercial fishers.Strong organisational and project management skills, with the capability to work independently.Valid Queensland Driver's Licence.Willingness to participate in overnight travel.
