Technical Chemical Service Technician | Site-based | Smithfield | Water treatment & chemical programmes | Global chemicals companyManage on-site chemical programmes, ensuring performance and reliability Carry out water testing, interpret results, and adjust treatments Troubleshoot plant issues, liaise with operators, and ensure smooth daily opsAbout the company/role:Global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions • Site-based role supporting an industrial manufacturer in Smithfield • Hands-on, operational role focused on water treatment and chemical programme management (not lab-based) • Ongoing contract role • Ideal for a Chemical Engineer seeking a practical, site-based roleKey Responsibilities:Manage and optimise chemical treatment programmes across paper machines and wastewater systems • Monitor and maintain dosing systems, including biocides, defoamers, and cooling tower treatments • Perform routine water testing (pH, conductivity, etc.) and adjust programmes based on results • Troubleshoot issues such as pump failures, leaks, and system inconsistencies • Ensure chemicals are ordered, stocked, and available onsite • Build strong working relationships with site operators and stakeholders • Use internal systems/software to track performance and record data • Occasionally review system data remotely if issues ariseSkills/experience:Qualifications in Chemical Engineering (highly regarded)Experience in routine water testing (pH, conductivity, etc.)Strong analytical thinking and technical curiosityAn interest in water treatment, sustainability, or process chemistryFull working rights and ability to work full-time onsitePractical, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret technical data and apply it in an operational settingStrong communication skills and ability to work independentlyExperience in water treatment, manufacturing, or industrial environments advantageousCulture/Benefits:This is a full-time, day-shift role (Mon–Fri, approx. 8:00am–4:00pm, flexible start).You will receive training, and ongoing support from a global team.Hourly rate circa $44–$45 per hour super (flexible depending on experience).Opportunity to transition into a permanent role.Company phone and laptop provided.Start ASAPHow to Apply:If you think this could be the role for you then please apply now!
