About the company/role: Our client is a national scientific organisation operating within the Federal Government sector, delivering analytical and regulatory services across environmental, food and pharmaceutical testing.
This
12-month contract opportunity is based in North Ryde and sits within the Laboratory Services team. The role supports sample receipt, LIMS registration, stakeholder communication and daily laboratory operations.
Ideal for someone with laboratory administration experience and strong attention to detail.
Duties:- Accurate receipt, preparation and storage of laboratory samples
- Timely and precise sample registration into LIMS (Sample Manager experience desirable)
- Preparation of samples for outsourced analysis
- Management of sample container orders and disposal processes
- Act as key liaison point for internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to client enquiries regarding submissions, work progress and results
- Support daily laboratory logistics and operational activities
- Maintain safe, clean and compliant sample receipt areas
- Assist broader Laboratory Services team as required
Skills/experience: - Diploma or Certificate in a scientific discipline OR 2 years’ relevant laboratory experience
- Experience using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) highly desirable
- Strong administration and data entry capability
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional customer service and stakeholder engagement experience
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under supervision
- Reliable, accountable and adaptable approach
