About the company/role: Our government client is looking for an
AO7 Technical Lead to join their team on a temporary basis until September2026. You will be working with
Fisheries Queensland as part of the
Digital Solutions Team which is responsible for leading and managing Fisheries Queensland systems and software development and support
As the Technical Lead, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing digital platforms, optimizing workflows, minimizing downtime, and supporting data driven decision making through strong data management practices.
Duties: - Oversee and advise on robust software development, data architecture management and efficient digital system operations to meet strategic objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Enhance operation efficiencies by reducing downtime and streamlining software development processes
- Enable accurate reporting and informed decision making through robust information processes
- Proactively manage systems to reduce technical debt and address emerging challenges
- Ensure the work undertaken within the Digital solution team aligns with departmental priorities and stakeholder need
- Oversee security compliance and conduct regular system audits in line with departmental processes to safeguard data and platforms
- Support the project manager to coordinate IT project, manage timelines and budgets and ensure successful implementation of key initiatives.
- Manage the data to day operations and functionality of the Digital Solutions team, reporting to the Manager Digital Solutions
Skills/experience: - Proven experience as a technical lead
- Skills in leading and maintaining a high performing collaborative team
- Strong background in digital environments and workflows
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and connect with commercial fishers.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the capability to work independently.
