About the company/role: Our client, a global manufacturing company, is currently seeking an
experienced Assistant Storeperson for an
ongoing position within the Maintenance and Reliability team on a full-time basis -
38+ hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role is responsible for the effective management of all maintenance stores activities, including sourcing and purchasing parts, consumables, and services. This role also involves kitting items for planned maintenance tasks, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring stock accuracy and availability to support site operations.
Note: A criminal history check and a pre-employment medical, including drug screening, is required before commencing this position. Duties:- Sourcing parts, consumables and services from existing suppliers.
- Receipt, store, and retrieve parts and consumables.
- Maintain inventory accuracy via routine stock counts.
- Assemble parts and consumables kits to meet schedules set by Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
- Provide parts to Maintenance and Operations teams on an ad-hoc as needed basis.
- Provide and receive continuous improvement feedback including spare obsolescence, lead-times, more durable products, etc.
- Load and unload trucks as required.
- Undertake MRP inventory transactions including order receipts, material labelling and stock movement.
- Carry out 6S activities in the storehouse to ensure there are no GMP or safety breaches.
- Ensure cGMP compliance by following company policies and procedures.
- Report any deviations in processing or procedures immediately.
- Identify and participate in the implementation of CI opportunities and projects with a focus on quality and compliance
- Participate in OE workshops and training.
Skills/experience: - Forklift license is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a store person.
- Previous experience in MRP / ERP systems essential.
- SAP experience highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Excel desirable.
- Strong level of customer service – internal and external.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to lift and handle a range of parts and consumables.
- Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative within the scope of the role.
- Current driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle as the site is difficult to access via public transport.
