About the company/role:
Our client is an Australian family-owned and managed sweet flavour manufacturer supplying the food, beverage, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries in Australia and New Zealand. With a head office in Melbourne, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in NSW to work across this territory. The role reports directly to the Commercial Director in Melbourne and will work autonomously. The role is WFH with frequent travel to customer locations when required. The role will be supported by Technical, Account Management and Sales teams. It is a requirement to have previous BD experience in the food industry.
 
Duties:
  • Manage own customer portfolio which is strongly NSW based
  • Grow new business by show casing products to potential customers
  • Identify new partnership opportunities by conducting market research
  • Evaluate customer requirements and develop technical solutions alongside the R&D team
  • Provide exceptional customer service to existing customers for continued business
  • Manage customer requests by delegating enquires to relevant Technical Teams
  • Carry out industry networking activities and gather customer insights
Skills/experience:
  • Previous experience working in a BD role in a food manufacturing environment is essential
  • Experience working with flavours is very favourable
  • Proven ability to grow new business and partner with clients
  • A full licence is required for this role
  • Ability to travel interstate and overseas if required
  • Technical knowledge of food ingredients and their application
  • Energetic and detail orientated individual
