About the role


The client is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and position the organisation as a leader in environmental and occupational testing services. This is a pivotal role where you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on business development, mentoring your team while achieving ambitious revenue targets.

This position is:
  • Based in Perth
  • Requires regular travel
  • A permanent opportunity, with full-time hours
Your key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead Generation & Account Management
    • Generate leads and cold-call prospective clients
    • Provide accurate quotes and follow up to secure conversions
    • Review client contracts and agreement
  • Business Development
    • Present the organisation’s value proposition to prospective clients
    • Conduct regular client visits (including top 5 clients every six months)
    • Attend industry events and conferences to identify opportunities
    • Collaborate on marketing materials and prepare tenders
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Coach and mentor direct reports, fostering professional growth
    • Conduct performance reviews and set clear development goals
    • Build a positive, inclusive team culture
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and implement process improvements
    • Encourage innovation in sales and account management
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong mineral and/or metallurgical-related background
  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in environmental or related industries
  • Ideal to have previous within laboratory environments
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet revenue targets
  • A natural leader who thrives on mentoring and building relationships
