12-month mat leave contract with strong potential to go permanent.
Monday to Friday with standard working hours (6:30am to 3pm)
About your duties: Reporting to the Section Leader, your main responsibilities may include:
Manufacture, testing and support of coatings, products and processes
Conduct laboratory testing, QA and application work on coatings systems
Support formulation, development and evaluation of products and raw materials
Assist with colour matching requirements
Record, analyse and interpret experimental data
Communicate progress, results and any issues to the wider team
Liaise with internal teams including R&D, production and technical teams
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe working practices
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects
General laboratory housekeeping and adherence to company procedures
About you:
Bachelor of Science (Chemistry or related discipline)
2-3 years of similar experience within the chemical industry (paints, coatings will be highly regarded)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage tasks, prioritise work and meet deadlines
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
High attention to detail, including ability to work with colour
A team player who can work in a cross-functional environment
