About the Company/Role:Our client is an Australian technology company focused on the commercialisation of innovative laser enrichment technologies for applications including Uranium enrichment, Silicon enrichment and medical isotope enrichment. The CNC Machinist is responsible for the fabrication of novel custom parts and
modifying existing components for high precision engineered process equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Fabricate high quality custom and prototype components from 2D drawings and 3D models using CNC lathe and milling machines, and manual lathe, drilling, and milling machines.
- Modification of existing parts and off-the-shelf components.
- Provide feedback to the Engineering Manager of design improvements to aid machinability, overall accuracy, and quality of work
- Identification and procurement of tooling that is required to complete each job
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of workshop equipment
Skills & Experience:- Trade certification in a relevant discipline
- Australian Citizenship required
- Ability to program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
- Ability to use manual lathes and milling machines to high tolerances
- Ability to read and fabricate parts from 2D drawings
- Ability to use manual measurement tools to achieve tolerances
- High attention to detail, with the ability to capture all documented machining operations without reworking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a collaborative working style
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word
