About the company/role: Our client, a global environmental organisation, is currently seeking a
Control Systems Project Engineer to join their team on the Gold Coast. This is a long-term
casual contract role with full-time hours each week.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the initiation and delivery of projects across multiple sites, as well as managing change associated with project implementation.
Duties:- Plan and execute projects through the full project lifecycle
- Assist with project scoping, planning, estimating, design input, procurement, and tender submissions where required
- Deliver assigned projects within budget and agreed schedules, ensuring safe execution across all phases
- Liaise with operations, maintenance, procurement, and asset management teams to ensure successful project initiation and delivery
- Manage subcontractors and consultants to achieve project outcomes, including site supervision and technical oversight of engineering consultants
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant WHS, environmental, and site-specific requirements
Skills/experience:- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, or substantial experience in control systems / systems integration.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the Electrical area of practice, or eligibility to obtain RPEQ within an agreed timeframe.
- Extensive project delivery experience in the water, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing industries, with strong experience in SCADA and PLC project execution.
- Working experience in control systems design, programming, configuration, and commissioning.
- Strong working knowledge of Siemens PCS 7 (highly desirable).
- Current driver’s licence.
- Ability to utilise relevant computer software applications (e.g. Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, including MS Project desirable).
