Our client, a reputable packaging organization, is experiencing rapid growth. They specialize in manufacturing packaging products for the Food and Dairy industry and are committed to delivering high-quality solutions to their customers. Due to continued expansion, they are currently seeking a Die Setter to join their thriving team on a casual full-time basis.

This role is based in the Southeastern suburbs of Melbourne and operates Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Die Setter to support our client's production operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for setting up and maintaining molds (dies) in plastic manufacturing machines to ensure smooth and efficient production.

This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Installing and removing molds (dies) in injection molding machines
  • Performing machine setup and calibration to meet production specifications
  • Conducting trial runs and quality checks
  • Troubleshooting molding issues and adjusting machine parameters
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on dies
  • Collaborating with production and quality teams to meet output targets
  • Ensuring safety and compliance with operational procedures
To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Die Setter or in a similar role within plastics or manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of molding processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Forklift license desirable but not essential
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
