About the company/role:The client is a leading Australian food company who manufacture fresh convenience foods including salads, soups and meal solutions. The Technical Officer will maintain the quality systems to ensure that all products manufactured are of the highest standard of food safety and quality.
Duties:- Maintain site certification and registrations, by ensuring all products are manufactured to meet the specified needs of customers, regulatory bodies and internal procedures
- Implementation and management of the National Quality and Food Safety Management System
- Resolve significant issues and provide sustainable corrective actions
- Provide effective leadership and management of the Technical Assistants
- Actively deliver food safety training and maintain/improve on existing training material
- Perform and communicate outcomes of supplier audits
- Provide technical advice and assistance on raw materials, warehousing, production and distribution
- Partner with the Production Managers and NPD team to develop systems and testing requirements for new product introductions, support trials and first production
Skills & Requirements:- Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Food Technology or related discipline
- Previous experience in a QA or Technical role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment is essential
- Understanding of Australian Food Legislation
- Understanding of relevant food safety and quality system standards
- Proven track record in QMS management
- Experience in Internal and Supplier Auditing
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
