Food Technologist (4 month contract)

Company/role:

• Food/beverage manufacturing company
• Based in the inner Western suburbs of Melbourne
• Seeking an experienced Food Technologist to cover maternity leave
• Casual contract till mid December 2026 (4 months)
• Fulltime hours, Monday - Friday
• Immediate start
• Working Holiday Visas are strongly encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with new product development and product improvement projects
• Conduct factory and laboratory trials
• Support product formulation and recipe development
• Analyse trial results and prepare technical reports
• Maintain accurate product specifications and documentation
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and cross-functional teams
• Ensure products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

About You:

• Tertiary education in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline
• Must have prior experience as a Food Technologist in a manufacturing environment
• Porven experience in product development and hands-on bench top experience
• Strong technical understanding of food science principles
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities
• Available to commence immediately
