About the company/role:

Our client Eurofins is a leader in food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products testing and in agroscience CRO services. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a General Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of their products.

Duties:

The General Manager is responsible for the day to day management, method development, validation, technical problems and issues within the Australian laboratories for Eurofins Environment Testing Australia Pty Ltd.
 
The General Manager also has responsibilities regarding human resources, training, approval of expenditure, and the QAQC system. The General Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES: 
 
  • Manage overall performance of Australian laboratories. Day to day operation managed by Business Unit Managers.
  • Manage staffing requirements at the laboratories, including overtime, casuals and hiring of new staff.
  • OHS representative, actively participating in bi-monthly meetings and a management representative as a HSR.
  • Reportable to the Managing Director Eurofins.
  • Supervision / Coordination of Business Unit Managers.
  • Development and regulation of both annual operating budgets and project budgets.
  • Development of strategies and policies to achieve company’s future goals.
  • Plan and review marketing activities, results and expectations with employees on a regular basis.
  • Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time. 

Skills/experience:
  • 5-10 years of laboratory experience in multiple laboratory sections
  • Science Degree majoring in Chemistry.
  • Strong numeracy and financial skills. 
  • Alignment with Eurofins Leadership Charter, Mission, Vision and Values.
  • General preference and comfort in technical environments.
  • Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.
  • Desire to continually learn and improve.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
