About the Role Our client has an exciting opportunity for a
Graduate Chemist to begin or further develop their career within the waste treatment and environmental services industry. This is a
permanent position offering strong career progression within a growing business.
Based in
Yatala, this position combines
hands-on operational work with regulatory and environmental compliance responsibilities. Occasional travel to other locations may be required, so a valid driver’s licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with treatment processes and optimisation of waste and chemical operations
- Conduct laboratory testing to support site activities
- Sample incoming waste streams and treated materials (soil and wastewater)
- Prepare samples for external analysis and liaise with laboratories and disposal facilities
- Sort, handle, and catalogue materials within the warehouse environment
- Maintain accurate operational and compliance records
- Support site compliance with EPA and council trade waste licences and environmental regulations
Skills & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field or Certificate III/IV with relevant industry experience
- Practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to work in an operational environment
- Comfortable working with liquid and solid chemical waste, including wet, dirty, dusty, and odorous conditions
- Physically capable of manual handling (lifting up to 20kg)
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Positive, proactive attitude
- Forklift licence highly regarded
