About the role:
Our client has a strong local and international presence in the mining and metallurgy sector. As a result of their continued growth, they are currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Officer to manage and grow technical sales within this space. The role is a permanent, full-time position based in Brisbane with frequent local and international travel
 
This role requires a self-motivated individual with solid technical knowledge in mineral science, geology, mining engineering or metallurgy. If you are a recent graduate or have 2 to 3 years’ experience within the mining sector, this is a great opportunity to grow your career with a reputable Australian organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the identification of customers on belt analysis needs to address their process control issues
  • Proactively develop and maintain close relations with customers in the industry, to achieve sales targets
  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the process to prepare proposals, bids and tenders to meet the requirement for competitive bids
  • Maintain accurate & timely information in Salesforce software
  • Prepare information on the company’s products and services for effective marketing channels, including trade press articles, technical brochures, presentations and application notes, social media.
  • Educate customers and engineering companies in the territory about our client and its solutions
  • Assist with the coordination, planning and execution of trade shows & conferences
  • Participate in annual market and budget planning and twice-yearly Sales & Marketing meetings
 
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this position you must meet the following selection criteria:
  • Qualifications in Science, Minerals Processing, Geology, Metallurgy, Engineering or Marketing
  • Ability to work as part of a sales group to negotiate and sell technical systems
  • Ability and willingness to travel interstate and overseas on a regular basis
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to customers in the mining industry
  • Self-driven with time management and prioritising skills
  • Competence in PCs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Ability to develop a good knowledge of the mining sector and mineral processing
  • Flexibility to travel at least 40% of the year
  • Strong customer focus and ability to relate well to all personalities
  • A self-starter, with good time management and organisational ability
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Team oriented, but with the ability to work independently in remote areas
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency and Driver’s Licence
