About the role:
Our Client, Westrex, is a leader in hazardous waste management. They are currently seeking an experienced Chemist to join their team working in an industrial setting in the waste sector. This role will be a permanent position, Drive in - Drive out, 7 days on - 7 days off, from their Jackson site, 4 hours west of Brisbane. You will be provided with onsite accommodation (with ensuite), meals and a company car.

  • A Bachelor of Science (Chemistry,) is essential;
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the waste industry or a role requiring the identification of hazardous waste is essential;
  • Previous experience in wastewater treatment facilities, chemical fixation and stabilization facilities, field sampling;
  • Excellent knowledge of chemicals and applicable legislation relating to their storage and disposal with the ability to trouble shoot to identify unknowns;
  • Enthusiasm for learning new things;
  • A drivers licence with a good driving record;
  • Be a great team player with a positive and proactive attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders.
