About the role:
This position has become available due to a pivotal project and will ongoing until at least September. There may be potential for this contract to be extended. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate to get their foot in the door.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
The successful candidate will have:
- Manual handling of incoming waste materials
- Collecting waste samples and prepping samples for packaging and shipping for external analysis
- Conducting basic testing on waste samples – eg, pH testing.
- Providing technical support and advice on how to dispose and manage of waste
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry and a thorough understanding of chemicals and hazardous materials
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to work well in a team
This position will require you to wear a full chemical suit and at times a respiratory mask. You will more often than not be working outdoors.
