Lab Technician

About the company/role:
The company is a well-known government organisation that undertakes leading edge research in nuclear science and technology and provides specialised advice to government, industry, academia and other research organisations. The lab technician will provide technical support for the Environment Research and Technology Group and carry out basic laboratory maintenance and sample preparation.
 
Responsibilities will include:

• Sample preparation and testing of samples
• Prepare necessary documentation for reporting results
• Calibrations and checks of laboratory equipment
• Carry out various lab activities including electrophoresis, distillation, dilutions
• General laboratory housekeeping

Skills & experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in science
• Australian Citizenship required for the role
• Hold a current driving licence + car
• Experience with sample registration and preparation
• Strong communication and organisational skills 
• High level of attention to detail
