About the company/role: We are currently seeking a
Laboratory Analyst to join our client’s pilot-plant at their stage one precursor production facility based in
Yarwun, Gladstone. This position is for a Monday to Friday 8 hour day roster with both permanent and temporary opportunities.
As a Laboratory Analyst you will be responsible for preparing and analysing process samples using laboratory equipment, including the use of highly sensitive laboratory analytical instruments. The position is focused on providing high quality analysis of finished goods to meet customer specifications.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants will be required to undertake a full medical assessment; drug screening and police check to be eligible for this role. Duties: - Perform tasks with emphasis on Quality Control as purity of product is critical
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to operating guidelines using SOPs, instrument manuals and supervisory guidance
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise throughout the laboratory
- Follow and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations and report results
- Ensure that safety, risk and environmental standards, internal company policies and programs are strictly adhered to
Skills/experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Science/Chemistry or significant experience within a laboratory environment
- 3 years’ experience within a laboratory analytical role in a similar industry
- Experience within a chemical handling/process laboratory
- Experience with SOPs and regulatory standards
- Experience and knowledge of quality management systems and processes
