About the company: Our client is a federal government organisation operating a highly specialised laboratory supporting national scientific, regulatory, and industry outcomes. The team works across environmental, food, and pharmaceutical testing in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

About the role: We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join a high-performing Inorganic Chemistry laboratory. This is a hands-on role focused on sample preparation and trace element analysis using advanced instrumentation.
This is a full-time contract (6 months) with strong potential for extension (up to 18 months total).

Duties:
  • Prepare environmental, food, and pharmaceutical samples
  • Conduct trace element analysis using ICP-MS / ICP-OES
  • Operate and perform basic maintenance on lab instruments
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting
  • Follow strict QA/QC, WHS, and SOP procedures
  • Work to deadlines in a fast-paced lab environment


Skills/experience:
To be considered, you MUST have:
  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory – non-negotiable)
  • Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
  • Recent hands-on laboratory experience
  • Experience with sample preparation for chemical analysis
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes in regulated environments
Highly desirable:
  • Exposure to ICP-MS / ICP-OES
  • Experience in environmental, food, or pharmaceutical labs
  • NATA or GMP laboratory experience
