About the Role
Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and personable
Laboratory Analyst with a background in
asbestos testing to join a forward-thinking company that’s revolutionising asbestos testing. This
permanent, full-time role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in a dynamic, client-focused environment. You’ll be working in a
fully mobile lab, providing cutting-edge services across various sites.
Note: All successful applicants must undergo medical testing, including drug screening.
Key Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will:
- Lead asbestos inspections and identify ACMs through sample collection, analysis, and detailed reporting in line with AS 5370 and ISO 17025 standards.
- Operate field sampling equipment in diverse environments including buildings and industrial facilities.
- Accurately identify and analyse asbestos samples using stereo and polarised light microscopy (PLM).
- Communicate effectively with clients and on-site personnel regarding inspections and findings.
- Prepare high-quality documentation and reports that meet NATA-accredited standards.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in asbestos testing.
- Proven experience using PLM and stereo microscopes for asbestos identification.
- A valid Australian Driver’s Licence (essential for mobile lab operations).
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS 5370 (formerly AS 4964), or ISO 22262.
