About the company/role: Our client is a well-known alcoholic beverage manufacturer who sells their products across Australia and globally. They are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their micro team testing beer samples. This role is a full-time, casual role and there is a requirement to work alternating shifts of one week day shift and one week afternoon shift. This role is ideal for a food science graduate looking to gain laboratory industry experience.
Duties:- Collection, storage and organisation of samples
- Micro testing, plating and counting colonies on plates
- Preparation of media and buffers
- Data collation on Excel
- Autoclave operation
- Titration and general wet chemistry
- Calibration of lab equipment
- General laboratory housekeeping
Skills/experience: - Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Microbiology
- Experience in food microbiology lab highly desirable
- Excellent laboratory skills including pipetting, general microbiology & chemistry techniques
- Understand the food manufacturing industry including associated quality systems
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be a team player, display initiative and attention to detail and demonstrate a willingness to learn
