About the Company:
Our client is a well-established and recognized leader in the manufacturing of oils, lubricants and additives based in Newcastle. Due to expansion in the team and growth at the site, our client is seeking an entry level Laboratory Technician.
 
About the Role:
Reporting into the Lab Supervisor, this role is essential for our client’s day-to-day quality functions such as sample analysis and reporting of various products.
 
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:


  • Conduct routine physical and chemical analysis 
  • Testing may include viscosity, moisture analysis, titrations, FTIR, ICP 
  • Enter and maintain accurate records of all tested products
  • Daily sample preparation and retention
  • Monitor production lines to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Formulation for batch rework where required
 
This is an ongoing casual and full-time role, current shift hours are morning and afternoon and flexibility is required across both shifts for training.
 
Requirements for this role:


  • Have completed a Diploma/BSc with a Chemistry major or related
  • Experience working within a chemical or analytical lab is desirable but not essential
  • Positive can-do attitude and a proven ability to show initiative
  • Proven ability to work in a team and independently

Culture & Benefits: 
Role is suitable for a recent graduate and you will receive full-training. 2 months of training on a mix of day shift and afternoon shift before commencing a rotating roster with afternoon shift in January 2025 / day shift could be between 6am - 4pm / afternoon is 2pm - 10pm. Afternoon shift loading will apply. Candidate to start in November 2024. The site is a 30 minute drive from Newcastle CBD.
