Laboratory Technician

About the company/role:

• Well-known food/beverage manufacturing company
• Located in the northern suburbs of Hobart
• Seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Quality team
• Part-time hours (3-4 days a week including some weekend work)
• 4-6 months casual contract

Duties, but not limited to :

• Collection of samples
• Chemical and microbiological testing of samples
• Sensory testing of samples
• Calibration of instruments
• Assisting in production issues and internal audits
• Ensuring GMP standards
• General housekeeping

Full training will be provided for the first 2 weeks (full-time hours for training).

Skills/experience: 

• Bachelor of Science (majoring in Food Science, Microbiology or closely related discipline)
• Previous laboratory experience would be ideal
• Reliable and good work ethic 
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
