Laboratory Technician

About the company/role:
Our client is a radioactive mining company based in regional SA. They have commenced an exciting project with established infrastructure already in place including a well-maintained plant. Our client has a highly-skilled operational and development team, and they are looking for a laboratory technician to report to the senior laboratory technician. 
 
Responsibilities include:

• ICP and XRF testing of radioactive samples
• Prepare samples, register in LIMS and check results prior to release
• Adherence and participation with safety systems and safe work Instructions
• Maintain the laboratory quality control system
• Calibration of laboratory equipment
• Ordering laboratory consumables

Skills/experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or similar field
• Experience with ICP and XRF testing
• Experience working with a mining company
• Understanding and demonstration of Good Laboratory Practice
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Confident, self-driven individual
