About the company/role: Our client is a well-known dairy manufacturer based in Southwest Sydney who is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. This is a fulltime, causal short-term role for approximately 3-months. The role is predominantly Monday-Friday but it is a requirement to work on Saturday on occasion. The ideal candidate is someone who has previous dairy testing experience.
Duties:- Microbial analysis of dairy samples (TPC, coliforms, microbial plating)
- Operate laboratory equipment (Milkoscan, Delvo, Microfoss, pH meter)
- Conduct packaging analysis (torque meter, diameter, weight)
- Record all results and escalate any issues
- Reporting and analysis of results
- Maintenance of the laboratory environment
Skills/experience: - Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/ Microbiology or a related discipline
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proficient in using Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Responsible for following food safety rules and guidelines
