Laboratory Technician – Food Science Student

About the company/role:
Our client is a well-known dairy beverage company based in Western Sydney. The supply into all major retailers and uphold high quality standards. They are seeking a Food Science student to join their team in the lab carrying our microbial testing of beverage samples. This role is required to work one day per week on a Saturday from 11am-7pm. This role can also be asked to come in on an ad-hoc basis during busy periods.
 
Duties:

• Microbiological testing of dairy beverage samples
• Ensure highest levels of HACCP and GMP by monitoring manufacturing
• Ensure highest levels of Hygiene by following cleaning and sanitation programs
• Involvement with internal and GMP audits
• Reporting and actioning on NCRs
• Calibration of laboratory instruments daily and maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the lab

Skills/experience:

• Current student studying tertiary qualifications in Food Science
• Hands-on experience in a laboratory
• Have a keen and diligent work ethic with good people skills
• Working knowledge of HACCP/GMP/GLP
• Strong computer skills MS Word/Excel
• Excellent attention to detail
