Maintenance Fitter

About the company/role:

• Global pharmaceutical manufacturer
• Based in Tullamarine
• 12‑month casual contract
• Full‑time hours on rotating day and night shifts
• On‑site role

Duties, but not limited to:

• Assemble and fabricate components using blueprints, cutting, grinding and shaping metal
• Install and align new machinery and equipment
• Perform routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on fixed plant
• Diagnose mechanical faults and repair or replace worn parts including bearings, gears and pipes
• Operate precision tools and machinery such as calipers, micrometers, lathes, welders and CNC equipment
• Complete accurate documentation, maintenance logs and safety checks
• Conduct preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on processing, filling and packaging machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems and pumps
• Work in strict compliance with GMP, SOPs, CAPA and quality systems
• Record work orders and maintenance activities in CMMS systems (SAP)

Skills/experience:

• Mechanical fitting trade certificate
• Previous experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Strong GMP knowledge and adherence
• Self‑driven with strong problem‑solving ability
• Experience working rotating shifts
• Detail‑oriented and reliable
• Candidates living reasonably close to site preferred due to shift structure
