About the Company / Role:
Our client is a leading plastic manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products within a regulated production environment. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their night shift team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring production machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring and ensuring all production machinery is operating efficiently
  • Setting up, dismantling, adjusting, and troubleshooting production equipment
  • Performing corrective maintenance and assisting with preventative maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
  • Using a range of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks
  • Cleaning, servicing, and reassembling production equipment
  • Supporting production schedules and operational requirements
  • Maintaining accurate batch records and maintenance documentation
  • Adhering to all company procedures, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Operating forklifts as required
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the production area
Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Exposure to preventative maintenance programs and manufacturing quality systems
  • Previous experience in machine setting, machine operation, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on experience using mechanical tools and equipment
  • Demonstrated experience performing corrective maintenance and fault-finding activities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve equipment issues efficiently
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • A current Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
