Metallurgical Technician to join the team.
This is a FIFO role, with a 8:6 roster (12.5-hour days)
Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, you will support the Process Engineering team by completing product sampling at operations facilities and conducting various sample preparation and analysis techniques to these samples. You will ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Collection of process samples in a timely manner
- Prepare samples, including but not limited to: splitting, crushing, pulverizing, sizing, specific gravity determination and moisture determination
- Sampling from conveyors or slurry streams
- Sample register and data recording
- Laboratory maintenance including but not limited to: checking and maintaining lab instruments, clean outs of crushers and splitters, and clean-up of the work space
- Focusing upon workplace safety, including but not limited to: completion of risk assessments, identify and reporting hazards
- Ensuring you follow instructions and procedures in a safe and competent manner
- Communication with the process team to help implement programs and solve issues which arise
About you:- Experience working in the mining/operations industry
- Laboratory (assay or metallurgical) experience - desirable
- Cert III in Laboratory skills or Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques - desirable
- Previous experience using laboratory information management systems - desirable
- Computer literacy, including competency in using Microsoft Office
- West Australian C class driver’s license required
In addition to this, you will possess excellent communication, time management and organizational skills. You will enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team and be self-motivated.
