Microbiologist

About the Company:            
Our client is a national food and beverage manufacturer of globally renowned brands. With sites based across Australia, their Brisbane site is seeking a Microbiologist for a full-time casual role with an immediate start! This role is 6 months initally, with the possibility of extension. 

About the Role:
Reporting to the Quality Team Manager the Microbiologist will be responsible for (but not limited to):

•    Collecting samples of raw materials, in-process and finished products
•    Performing routine chemical and microbiological analyses in a high-volume laboratory
•    Performing environmental monitoring and testing
•    Operating, calibrating, maintaining and cleaning of laboratory equipment
•    Liaising with internal stakeholders in manufacturing and quality assurance team providing feedback in the daily meeting
•    Monitoring and reporting on results of laboratory tests
•    Maintaining a safe working environment
•    Working within recognised quality frameworks

Skills & Experience:
To be considered for this role you will have/be able to demonstrate:

•    Degree level qualifications in Microbiology (or equivalent) PLUS relevant experience in a food manufacturing laboratory;
•    Excellent microbiological skills
•    Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is advantageous;
•    Ability to accurately monitor and report on results of laboratory tests;
•    Ability to lift up to 10kgs;
