Packaging Technologist

About the company/role:
Our Sydney office is recruiting for a Packaging Technologist to work within a leading manufacturer providing fresh food product ranges for several different customers including service companies and leading retail chains. The business is a leading Australian company and has a long and stable history with an established footprint in its space. This role will work directly with the Product Development team.
 
Duties:

• Develop structured plans for packaging development associated with NPD projects
• Provide technical support to production and quality teams where required
• Liaise with suppliers to deliver innovate packaging solutions
• Work collaboratively with marketing and procurement on value optimisation projects
• Lead factory trials and post trials to ensure accurate specifications are met
• Identify improvement opportunities within the packaging development process

Skills/experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in material science, food science or a related discipline
• Previous FMCG packaging technologist experience is desirable
• Proven experience managing NPD projects
• Experience in root cause analysis, labelling, supplier liaison, validation
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and build effective relationships
