About the role:
Our client, an established food manufacturing operation, is seeking two experienced Process Quality & Improvement Technologists to support site food safety, compliance and continuous improvement activities. One role is for day shift and one is for night shift. This role will start off as casual full time with a view to permanent after 3-6 months.  

This role is well‑suited to someone with strong QA/food safety experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in root cause analysis, non‑conformance management, customer complaint investigations, and process improvement.

About the Role
Reporting to the Food Safety & Quality Manager, your key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining compliance with HACCP, BRC, Halal, Kosher and customer‑specific quality programs through audits, inspections, validations and training
  • Applying root cause analysis tools and driving CAPA to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
  • Using Statistical Process Control (SPC) to support product quality improvements and enhance CpK
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, documentation and timely completion of actions
  • Supporting production with timely product release and technical quality guidance
  • Promoting a culture where food safety and quality are central to daily operations and leadership behaviour
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement and structured change initiatives
  • Leading non‑conformance investigations, customer complaint reviews and ensuring timely reporting
  • Managing non‑conforming stock, rework, inspections and product returns
  • Collaborating with Operations and R&D to ensure NPD meets food safety and quality requirements
  • Delivering the site quality improvement roadmap by leveraging data insights and cross‑functional teamwork
 
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field
  • 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing QA or food safety
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, CAPA, non‑conformance and complaint investigations
  • Experience with SPC, data analysis and continuous improvement methodology
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, R&D and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
  • Competence with computer systems (Advanced Excel and SAP desirable)
  • Solid understanding of food manufacturing processes and unit operations
