About the company/role:
Our client is a well-established food ingredient manufacturer operating a fast-paced production facility supported by a dedicated maintenance team. As the business continues to strengthen its preventative maintenance program, they are seeking a Procurement Scheduler to support maintenance operations through effective planning, coordination, and procurement of maintenance-related materials. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, this role is embedded within the maintenance team and is focused purely on maintenance procurement and scheduling. This is a full-time, day shift role. It will commence on a casual basis with a clear pathway to permanent full-time employment.

Duties:
  • Procure maintenance-related materials including (but not limited to): Bearings, motors, belts, circuit boards,Mechanical and electrical components, Consumables and site essentials (e.g., fittings, tools, PPE, amenities)
  • Manage purchasing requests for the maintenance team using SAP and MEX
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance jobs, ensuring: Correct parts and materials are available ahead of scheduled works and alignment with operations on job timing, shutdowns and access
  • Liaise closely with: Maintenance trades and planners, Operations and production teams, External contractors and suppliers
  • Interpret maintenance requirements and specifications (mechanical preferred)
  • Track inventory levels and anticipate upcoming maintenance needs
  • Raise purchase orders, monitor lead times, follow up deliveries
  • Assist with supplier engagement, pricing requests and service coordination
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance scheduling and procurement processes
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and compliance with site procedures
Skills/experience:
  • Trade background strongly preferred (Mechanical ideal; Electrical also considered)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Comfortable communicating with trades, contractors and suppliers
  • Working knowledge of maintenance terminology and workflows
  • Experience using SAP, MEX or similar CMMS / ERP systems
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Proactive, reliable and confident working across multiple stakeholders
