About the Company/role: Our client is a fast-growing Australian contract manufacturer with a diverse range of products. This role is an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to lead a team in the production of a wide range of products. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to drive and implement action plans and activities to meet business targets across all aspects of production including line performance, safety and quality.

Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee daily batch manufacturing and packing operations across split shifts to meet DIFOT targets while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance
  • Manage and support shift supervisors and team leaders across both shifts (approx. 35 staff per shift), ensuring clear communication and accountability
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Production Planner to ensure accurate scheduling, resource allocation, and responsiveness to demand changes
  • Monitor equipment reliability and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimise downtime through preventative and responsive maintenance
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality team to ensure GMP, TGA, and internal standards are consistently met across all production activities
  • Track and report production performance metrics including throughput, downtime, labour efficiency, and delivery timelines
  • Coordinate with planning and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging components, and consumables
  • Maintain accurate batch documentation, traceability, and reconciliation in line with regulatory and customer requirements
  • Manage production budgets for labour and materials, ensuring cost-effective operations and tracking against forecasts
  • Lead daily production meetings and ensure effective shift handovers to maintain continuity and resolve operational issues
  • Support investigations, deviations, and audit readiness in partnership with QA/QC teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready production environment across all shifts
  • Identify risks or delays that may impact delivery and escalate appropriately with proposed solutions
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols across all production areas
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production with planning, quality, and commercial priorities
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all levels of production staff
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in production as a Team Leader/Supervisor
  • Experience in contract manufacturing – FMCG, healthcare, nutraceuticals or relevant industry
  • Knowledge of GMP & Quality Management processes
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
