About the company:
  • Our client is a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing organization with a strong presence in the Australian market
  • They are seeking an experienced Production Support Lead to join their team initially for 6 months with high potential for permanency 
  • This company is based in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne 
  • Day Shift but may be required to work afternoon shift towards end of year

About the Role:

The Production Support Lead is to support all aspects relating to successful manufacturing of Drug Products and Drug substances. This will include (but not limited to), Tablets, Capsules and non-sterile Liquids for the purposes of Development, Clinical or Commercial use. 

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support all aspects of process development, including trialing of new tablet and capsule processes on small scale
  • Identifying critical process parameters from obtained data
  • Writing batch documentation (including input into applicable safety assessments) and overseeing tablet and capsule processes in manufacturing facilities
  • Oversee the production process ensuring that all the conditions of the batch are met
  • Ensure the facility and equipment is maintained in a clean and operational state that meets the company's Quality System requirements and are suitable for pharmaceutical manufacturing purposes.
  • Report any out of specification results, deviations and non-conformances to the Area Manager or Quality Manager as per relevant SOPs in a timely manner

To be successful for this role, you must have:
  • 5 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical company, must have solid dose / tablet manufacturing experience
  • Experience with API, sterile, non-sterile and finished dosage form manufacturing (desirable)
  • Experience in the supervision of small teams is advantageous 
  • Sound understanding of synthetic chemistry and problem solving 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
