QA Officer

About the company/role:
Evolve are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Officer role with a premium cheese manufacturer supplying major retailers across Australia.  This is a permanent, day shift role (7am-3pm). Flexibility is required to work some Saturdays and public holidays. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager and works cross-functionally with other team members.
 
Duties:

• Conduct daily inspections and swabbing of the production areas
• Send samples externally for microbial testing and collect retention samples
• Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits
• Investigation of non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Calibration of equipment e.g. pH probes, thermometers
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HACCP, GMP, EPA, WHS, SQF)
• Recording and interpreting quality data
• Carrying out laboratory testing of cleaning chemicals

Skills/experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food & Nutrition/ Microbiology or a related discipline
• HACCP certificate is highly regarded
• Proven understanding of HACCP and SQF
• Strong communication, computer and teamwork skills
