About the role:
  • The company is a well-established organisation within the food manufacturing and quality assurance industry, known for its strong compliance standards and commitment to product quality.
  • Based in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
  • 3-month casual contract with potential for extension. 
  • Monday to Friday with standard working hours.
  • To start immediately. 
About your duties:
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, your main responsibilities may include:
  • Liaise and coordinate analytical testing with external laboratories
  • Data entry, report writing, and generation of Certificates of Analysis
  • Release raw materials and finished products through internal systems
  • Manage laboratory consumables, including purchasing and stock control
  • Raise purchase orders, receipting, and invoice processing
  • Assist with calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Support maintenance of quality and compliance standards within the laboratory
  • Participate in proficiency programs and internal audits
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and cleanliness standards
  • Ensure all work complies with OH&S and regulatory requirements
  • Support training of staff where required
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Quality, Operations, and Customer Service
About you:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Food Science, Technology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a QC laboratory within food manufacturing or a testing environment
  • Understanding of OH&S, HACCP, and laboratory compliance requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities
  • Good problem-solving and reporting skills
  • Strong IT and data management skills
  • A team player with the ability to work across departments
  • Valid driver’s licence
