About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced QA Officer to join our team and help us uphold the highest standards in food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in a well-established food production environment, supporting both operations and new product development.
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager/General Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the Quality Management System, HACCP, and SQF programs. You’ll work closely with production teams to ensure consistent manufacturing standards, drive quality culture, and support ongoing certification requirements.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting, enjoys being on the floor as much as working with documentation, and is passionate about delivering safe, high‑quality food products.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Quality Management System, HACCP documentation, and digital QA platforms
  • Act as SQF Practitioner and ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, FSANZ, and RSPO standards
  • Deliver QA training and support production teams on quality practices
  • Lead audits, manage corrective actions, and conduct internal audits, inspections, testing, and calibrations
  • Oversee cleaning programs and external sanitation contractors
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and non‑conformances with Production and Sales
  • Maintain product specifications, packaging and labelling compliance
  • Support product development, trials, testing, and documentation including PIFs and NIPs
 
Skills/Experience:
  • Qualification in Food Science, Quality, or similar
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a QA role within the food industry
  • Strong understanding of SQF, HACCP, FSANZ, GMP and Food Standards Code
  • Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills and the ability to influence production teams
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Excel and sound general IT skills
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high‑quality work
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
