About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Officer to join our client`s team on an initial 4–6-week casual contract, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet strict quality, food safety, and compliance standards across all stages of production.

A core focus of this role is conducting sensory evaluation of blends, ensuring consistency with approved references and compliance with SQF and HACCP standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections
  • Conduct sensory analysis and QC testing (including viscosity and organoleptic assessments)
  • Undertake sampling, swabbing, and surface testing
  • Carry out scale calibration checks
  • Complete internal audits and GMP inspections as scheduled
  • Monitor production to ensure finished product quality and compliance
  • Review production paperwork and batch records
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, legislation, and labelling requirements
  • Collect and maintain retention samples in an organised manner
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations and non-conformance issues
  • Escalate any food safety or quality concerns immediately 
Skills/Experience
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Officer role, or Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving ability
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Positive, proactive, and reliable attitude
  • Good computer literacy
