About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Officer to join our client`s team on an initial
4–6-week casual contract, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet strict quality, food safety, and compliance standards across all stages of production.
A core focus of this role is conducting sensory evaluation of blends, ensuring consistency with approved references and compliance with SQF and HACCP standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily pre-operational inspections
- Conduct sensory analysis and QC testing (including viscosity and organoleptic assessments)
- Undertake sampling, swabbing, and surface testing
- Carry out scale calibration checks
- Complete internal audits and GMP inspections as scheduled
- Monitor production to ensure finished product quality and compliance
- Review production paperwork and batch records
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, legislation, and labelling requirements
- Collect and maintain retention samples in an organised manner
- Assist with customer complaint investigations and non-conformance issues
- Escalate any food safety or quality concerns immediately
Skills/Experience - Previous experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Officer role, or Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related field
- Strong attention to detail

- Analytical with strong problem-solving ability
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Positive, proactive, and reliable attitude
- Good computer literacy
