About the company/role:
Our client is the world's leading protein processor and supplies their range of products across Australia and globally. They are seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator to join their fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will have a team of reports and will report directly to the Quality Manager. This is a permanent day shift role with flexibility around start and finish times. It is a requirement to come on site for preoperational checks from time to time.
 
Duties:
  • Manage and lead the junior quality team members
  • Ensure compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances while carrying out root cause analysis
  • Create and update quality manual, SOPs, and HACCP plans
  • Attend quality and daily operational meetings
  • Chair the weekly sanitation meeting
  • Carry out micro swabbing and pH testing program

Skills/experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a QA role in the food industry is essential
  • Previous people management experience is highly regarded
  • Previous experience working in a high-care manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Ability to lead and provide mentorship to a team
  • Understanding of HACCP, BRC, GMP, QMS necessary
  • Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills
