About the role/company:
Our client, an animal nutrition manufacturer North of Brisbane, are currently seeking an experienced
Quality Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role requires a self-motivated person with a will to succeed and a very hands-on approach. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and food safety of pet food products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and customer standards, while supporting audits, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and enforce food safety protocols (HACCP, GMP)
- Conduct quality checks on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints
- Support internal and external audits (SQF, AA, PFIAA, Coles, Woolworths)
- Perform sampling and coordinate lab testing
- Train staff on quality and food safety procedures
Selection Criteria:To be considered for this role, please submit a current resume addressing your suitability to the following requirements:- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
- Experience in a QA/QC role in food or feed manufacturing
- Experience with audits, testing, and regulatory compliance
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- HACCP certification and internal auditor training would be desirable
- A positive can do attitude
