About the Company/Role: Our client is an Australian owned company, which prides itself on innovation and providing customer solutions to gain the competitive edge. Our client is a well-known manufacturer of specialty chemicals based on the North Shore. The R&D Chemist will develop new ideas for products and manufacturing processes and take it through to commercialisation utilising your broad and diverse industry background.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct ideation and prior-art research to identify opportunities to expand product offerings
- Develop innovative new products from idea to proof of concept
- Assist in translating successful lab trials to production trials and full-scale manufacture
- Develop laboratory protocols to answer research questions to optimise production processes
- Perform laboratory research, adjusting methods and protocols as required to facilitate replication of production processes
- Supervise and run the pilot plant
- Support Manufacturing to undertake production trials
- Investigate intermediates and products using chemical and physical analytical methods
Skills & Experience:- Tertiary qualifications in industrial chemistry, material science, polymer science or related
- Strong technical expertise in innovation of new products and/or processes within the speciality chemical industry
- Recent and relevant hands-on R&D experience within a laboratory/manufacturing setting essential
- Experience dealing with clients and providing assistance on technical issues
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
