About the Company/Role:
  • A reputable cosmetic contract manufacturing company with a strong presence in the Australasian markets
  • Located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
  • Seeking an experienced R&D Chemist to join their team on a permanent basis.
  • We encourage all candidates who have pharmaceutical or Cosmetics experience to apply.
  • Monday - Friday, standard working hours 

Duties:

Reporting to the R&D Manager, the key duties and responsibilities will be:
  • Formulate existing and new products in a timely manner, with quality and budget in mind
  • Produce formula samples in the laboratory following GLP
  • Perform experimental testing and trials on new formulations
  • Provide manufacturing and upscale assistance and support
  • Conduct stability testing
  • Communicate the status of new product development to the R&D Manager
  • Develop and maintain Master Formulas and prepare related documents and records
  • Initiate change controls and deviations when required
  • Undertake in-house SPF, water resistance and photo-stability testing

To be considered for this role, you will have previously worked in an R&D role within cosmetic, pharmaceutical or personal care manufacturing environment.

Qualifications and Personal attributes you will bring to the role are as follows:
  • BSc in Pharmaceutical / Formulation Science / Chemistry
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within R&D in a cosmetic/personal care or pharmaceutical company
  • A pragmatic ‘hands on’ approach.
  • Organized and logical.
  • A good level of interpersonal and communication skills.
