About the company/role:

  • Seeking a Safety Business Partner to provide strong safety leadership and compliance across large-scale operations
  • Permanent opportunity
  • Monday - Friday, normal business hours
  • Must be flexible to do occasional night shifts

Duties, but not limited to:

Safety, Health & Sustainability
  • Provide strategic and operational WHS advice to leaders.
  • Champion a positive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Drive implementation of safety standards and best practice initiatives.
  • Support environmental and sustainability objectives across operations.
Training, Engagement & Culture
  • Manage employee and contractor inductions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs.
  • Maintain training records and competency matrices.
  • Coach supervisors and leaders in effective safety leadership.
  • Lead behavioural safety initiatives, safety observations and workplace inspections.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Lead risk assessments and review safe operating procedures.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and environmental requirements.
  • Manage audits, inspections and regulatory interactions where required. 
Incident & Emergency Management
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.
  • Monitor incident trends and drive preventative actions.
  • Support emergency response planning, testing and training activities.
Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Manage and improve safety management systems.
  • Analyse safety and environmental performance data.
  • Develop meaningful reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Drive innovation and digital improvements across safety processes.

Skills/experience required:
  • Tertiary education in OH&S
  • Additional qualifications in risk management, enviromental or leadership are highly regarded
  • 5+ years in safety leadership role within manufacturing or processing industry. Ideally within medium-high risk enviornments.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and complaince requirements
  • Strong experience conducting incident investigations, incident management, risk management and safety systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to build relationships across all staffing levels and backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills and has a practical solutions approach
