Our client, a global leader in specialty materials, is experiencing strong growth and investing in the expansion of its Urethane Systems & Specialty Materials portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. This newly created position will suit a commercially astute technical sales professional who enjoys building long term customer partnerships, shaping market strategy, and unlocking new opportunities.
This role offers ownership of a defined portfolio and a revenue base with strong growth potential. Collaboration with regional technical and marketing specialists will be central to introducing differentiated solutions, safeguarding core business, and achieving ambitious growth targets. As the organisation continues to expand, the scope of responsibility will increase, creating a clear pathway toward senior leadership.
Sales and Market Growth- Develop and implement a regional sales strategy aimed at achieving and surpassing growth targets across established and emerging accounts
- Prepare structured account plans and maintain a robust pipeline based on market analysis and commercial priorities
- Identify new applications and present solutions that meet customer requirements and deliver measurable value
- Utilise local production capabilities to support trials, reduce lead times, and simplify adoption for customers
- Manage pricing, margins, and product mix to ensure sustainable profitability
Customer Relationship Management- Strengthen existing partnerships and establish new relationships with key decision makers and influencers
- Engage targeted prospects and convert identified needs into commercially viable opportunities
- Provide technical support, training, and product guidance to build confidence and understanding
- Address enquiries and resolve issues promptly through effective collaboration across teams
Industry and Product Expertise- Maintain a thorough understanding of urethane systems, formulations, and performance requirements across relevant industries
- Monitor competitor activity, regulatory developments, and technology trends to protect core business and inform growth strategies
Sales Operations and Reporting- Deliver accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and market analysis to support planning and resource allocation
- Track performance against targets and adjust strategies where required
- Work closely with customer service and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery and effective receivables management
Collaboration and Influence- Partner with technical, marketing, and operations teams to develop promotional campaigns, case studies, and product launches
- Coordinate trials, sampling programs, and scale-up activities with internal and external stakeholders
This position offers significant autonomy and requires a balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution. Success depends on the ability to adapt across varied environments, from laboratories and manufacturing sites to executive boardrooms, while maintaining a strong commercial focus and delivering value through informed decision making.
Qualifications and Experience- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
- 5 to 10 years of technical sales experience within chemicals, specialty materials, adhesives, coatings, elastomers, or industrial products
- Experience in urethane systems or cast urethanes is strongly preferred, or strong technical support experience with clear passion and potential for sales
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales and growth targets across complex B2B accounts
- Valid driver licence and ability to travel across Australia and New Zealand as required

- High level of commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, and contract negotiation
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative, solutions oriented approach
- Self directed, accountable, and collaborative, with disciplined pipeline management and reporting habits
- Comfortable working across laboratories, manufacturing environments, and executive settings
