We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Officer to support the Gateway to Bruce Upgrades (G2BU), a large‑scale road and transport infrastructure program.

This is a site‑based role in Deagon, Queensland, requiring full‑time attendance. Limited flexible work arrangements may be available on an exception basis, subject to operational requirements. Occasional work outside standard hours may be required (loading applies).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide environmental management and compliance support on major infrastructure and road construction projects
  • Manage environmental approvals and compliance requirements under State and Commonwealth legislation, including the EPBC Act
  • Coordinate and support EPBC referrals, self‑assessments and approval documentation
  • Review and support environmental permits, licences and conditions of approval
  • Assist with environmental offsets, compliance reporting and management requirements
  • Review environmental and design documentation, including Environmental Management Plans, erosion and sediment control, water quality and fauna management
  • Conduct site inspections and environmental audits during construction
  • Identify, assess and manage environmental risks impacting project delivery
  • Support Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) ratings and reporting
  • Liaise with project teams, consultants and regulatory authorities
Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Cultural Heritage Management or equivalent
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Proven experience in environmental compliance within construction or infrastructure environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and regulatory coordination skills
  • Full working rights in Australia
Highly Desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on major road or transport infrastructure projects
  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP)
